ASID Carolinas Spring Meeting was a Success!

We had a great week-long series of events in late March during our 2021 Spring Meeting.  The four lunchtime CEUs were well attended with 30 – 40 typically present.  Our speakers and presenters included:

  • Abigail Sorensen of Tech Lighting
  • Phil Miller of Thayer Coggin, Inc.
  • Beverly McAuley of Moore & Giles
  • Brad Clinard of High Point Financial Design
  • Anai Beam of Sensational Spaces Design
  • Nicole Culler of Nicole Culler Interiors
  • Sara Lee of SISU Home Designs
  • Jane Nichols of High Point University
  • Marta Mitchell of Marta Mitchell Interior Design (Keynote).

Friday was our student-focused day with a panel discussion, portfolio review, keynote speaker (check out Marta Mitchell's "Haven for a Covid Healthcare Warrior" here), and the presentation of the Otto Zenke Awards. Big congratulations to our 2020-21 Otto Zenke Award Winners: Naomi Lytle (First Place); Libby Montgomery (Second Place); Molly Terra (Third Place); and Leslie Webb (Honorable Mention). View their award-winning projects!

As you know, the last year brought dramatic changes in how we have delivered our Design Community and Chapter Events.  We embraced the switch to virtual platforms to continue delivering quality events and educational opportunities in the safest way possible.  Like ASID National, we have delivered those opportunities at no cost to our members.  For the first time, we added the option to donate to the ASID Carolinas Chapter at the time of registration.  Thanks to the generosity of our attendees, we raised $540.00 to help support our Chapter-wide efforts.

The planning for our Annual Fall meeting is already underway.  Please be on the lookout for a member survey coming later this month, we want to ensure we continue to provide events in the formats you want.

A big thank you to our speakers, attendees, event organizers, and Patron Partners!
