President's Message

Leaders Lead

Has anyone ever asked you to volunteer for a leadership position? Did you feel a pulling towards that call and did you feel ready? When my opportunity came, I didn’t think I was ready either. June makes the 9th month of being your President with only three more to go. I have found a sense of satisfaction in knowing this was the best voluntary experience in my life by stretching my imagination and building confidence. >> MORE

Chapter Trip - San Miguel de Allende

Introducing Trip March 2020

"This San Miguel de Allende trip was my second and was just as wonderful as the first. Melinda and Anna are superb tour directors, foreseeing every issue and solving it before it happens. Francisco is a fabulous and funny tour guide, and a superb problem-solver (and being handsome and knowing the entire population of the town doesn't hurt either). The town is charming, the weather is heavenly, the food is fabulous - what's to hate?! And the price is amazingly reasonable. I'd go again in a heartbeat!" - Marian Chatfield >> MORE

ASID Carolinas Designing Destinations Trip Recap

ASID Carolinas

San Miguel de Allende

We explored, discovered, and made some great friends along the way!

When: March 2020

Working with ASID Carolinas Chapter the past two years has truly been a pleasure for our agency! We had high expectations for our 2019 San Miguel de Allende trip after such a positive experience on our 2018 trip, and once again our expectations were more than exceeded. San Miguel de Allende as a destination is one of our most favorite locales in the world. Experiencing this Conde Nast and Travel + Leisure top city through the eyes of de signers though has been such an incredible experience. Carolinas Chapter ASID is such a fantastic client to work with and we are excited to be part of the CCASID 2020 Designing Destination Trips.

Warm regards,

Melinda Webb Huggan - CTA

ASID Carolinas Announces New Partnership

ASID Carolinas

Announces New Partnership with

Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte

Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte provides a safe, affordable and caring "home-away-from-home" for the families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities. Families are stronger when they are together, and this is never more important than when a child is sick or injured. By offering families a haven less than one mile from our partner hospitals, we increase their ability to spend more time with their child, interact with their clinical care team and participate in critical medical decisions.

We are looking for volunteers all over the Carolinas to assist with this partnership. If you connect with any of the following needs and can possibly assist, please email us at administrator@nc-sc.asid.org to be placed on a volunteer list.

  • Access to new furniture that could be donated to the house (as requested, needed)
  • Time to assist with house-related projects
  • A designer-sense of style when a challenge arises with current House furniture or staging needs
  • Looking to assist families in need through the donation of time or industry connections, as needed.

A special announcement will be made during the luncheon of our upcoming Spring Meeting. Register today by clicking here.

We hope to see everyone there to learn more about this partnership and how we are looking to bring design to life to families in need all over the Carolinas!
