It has been a busy year in NC with many working for recognition of interior designers as a profession.
NC House Bill 858 was introduced in the spring. You may recall House Bill 590 passed the House in the summer of 2017. A bill can only be active for 2 years and then it may be reintroduced. This created an opportunity to improve the language, as your advocates have had numerous meetings going through all points of our bill.
DID YOU KNOW? HB858 allows designers to choose to voluntarily register with the State to achieve “stamp and seal” authority for the interior design portion of a commercial project?
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE? DO YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED? Please reach out our chapter office administrator@nc-sc.asid.org and they will connect you to our team.

ASID Carolinas Designing Destinations Trip Recap
|
ASID Carolinas
San Miguel de Allende
We explored, discovered, and made some great friends along the way!
When: March 2020
Working with ASID Carolinas Chapter the past two years has truly been a pleasure for our agency! We had high expectations for our 2019 San Miguel de Allende trip after such a positive experience on our 2018 trip, and once again our expectations were more than exceeded. San Miguel de Allende as a destination is one of our most favorite locales in the world. Experiencing this Conde Nast and Travel + Leisure top city through the eyes of de signers though has been such an incredible experience. Carolinas Chapter ASID is such a fantastic client to work with and we are excited to be part of the CCASID 2020 Designing Destination Trips.
Warm regards,
Melinda Webb Huggan - CTA
