Sustainable Furnishings Council Partnership

The Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) and the Carolinas Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID Carolinas) have joined forces to provide designers with education programming and resources to support ASID’s goals of providing professional development with a focus on the Impact of Design, and Health & Wellness, and SFC’s goals of raising awareness and expanding the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices across the home furnishings industry.

The Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) is a coalition of manufacturers, retailers and designers dedicated to raising awareness and expanding the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices across the home furnishings industry. SFC’s mission is to help companies reduce their environmental footprints as they grow, and to help consumers find healthy furnishings. To accomplish these lofty goals, SFC provides the best education, promotion, and networking opportunities available. GREENleaders

ASID Carolinas members receive a 50% off GREENleaders tuition.

GREENleaders is a 6‐ hour accreditation program that also qualifies for continuing education units through IDCEC and through GBCI for LEED AP. It describes how our industry relates to various sustainability issues, provides an overview of consumer concerns and priorities, covers many questions‐to‐ask and answers‐to‐look‐for, and culminates with a powerful sales training to help participants put it all together and do their jobs better.
