Rebecca B. Compton, ASID, CKD, NCIDQ
President/COO
Gallery 406 Interiors LLC
I graduated from Winthrop College (now University) with a B.S. in Interior Design in 1983. After graduation, I was hired as the first design assistant in the new Campus Planning and Design Department at Winthrop. My primary job was to assist with a major remodel and update of the President's mansion on campus---skills I've used ever since!
After leaving Winthrop, I spent four years employed by kitchen and bath design firms, before forming a partnership with another designer---which lasted for three years, then had my own firm for twelve years while also having my four children with my husband, Mike.
Realizing I needed a break, I closed my company and took a two and a half year sabbatical before joining Gallery 406 in 2005, and morphing it from a shop with art, antiquities, and collectables into an interior design firm---eventually becoming Gallery 406 Interiors LLC. My specialties include kitchen and bath design, custom cabinetry, and custom window treatments in addition to other design services.
I've been involved with our ASID Carolinas chapter in a number of positions over the years, which has helped me grow personally and professionally. Members who show up to events know and understand it is a true family. We learn and grow together, support each other, have fun together, and celebrate accomplishments together. It has always been my hope and desire to see our Midlands design community become active again. Please join us!
