ASID Carolinas Travel Program

By Margot Olson, ASID

For the last three years, the Carolinas Chapter has sponsored an "event of a lifetime" in San Miguel de Allende. I had the wonderful opportunity to join the trip for 2020.  The trip was filled with exciting events that included gourmet food and drinks, socializing with our group of 18, observing traditional and contemporary cultural events, viewing magnificent scenery and architecture, and much, much more.

The Carolinas Chapter intends to continue sponsored travel opportunities in 2021 with a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Like San Miguel, Santa Fe is rich in culture and art with many arenas for socializing and enjoying southwestern cuisine. Currently, the trip is in the planning stages and any suggestions from our members would be welcomed.

The Carolinas Chapter trips are really a special, unparalleled opportunity to enjoy travel with a well-planned itinerary. In San Miguel, our group visited four homes and a luxury suite of rooms at the Rosewood Hotel that would not have been available outside our very special tour. I had been to San Miguel, on my own, several years earlier. I thought I had seen it all—so wrong, having an experienced guide and a fun-filled group of travelling companions made a huge difference in my experience. I have visited Santa Fe many times over the years, but I Iook forward to a different adventure when I join the ASID trip next year.

More information on Santa Fe will be announced in the near future.  Follow this link for the Flickr album from our 2020 trip to San Miguel.
