Emmy Knott Williams, ASID,
Owner, Interior Solutions Inc.

Emmy Knott Williams, ASID, owns Interior Solutions Inc.  Though based in Winston-Salem, N.C, Williams has lead projects for both regional and nationally recognized clients.  Williams enjoys working in a team environment with interior designers, architects and contractors.

In 2006, the State of NC, a no sales tax on service state, began to audit interior design firms and held them accountable for sales tax on services.  Emmy and Susan Carson, Allied ASID, reached out to all of the interior design organizations to build awareness of the issue.  The collaborative team was successful in the passing of a favorable NC law that states that “interior design services are not sales taxable”.

Williams, certified by NCIDQ, is a past president of the Carolinas Chapter of ASID.  She currently serves as one of the chapter co-chairs of Government Affairs and on the national ASID Government & Public Affairs Committee.
