Become a NC Registered Interior Designer
January 1, 2022, marked the first day that NC Registered Interior Designers were able to stamp and seal their own documents.
- This is the first time in the nation that this has been possible
- The NC bill has been a model for other states to pass similar legislation
- Small Interior Design businesses are now able to be more competitive
- This new law does not restrict any Interior Designers from practicing the way they always have
- The effort to pass the legislation was carried by ASID Carolinas with the support of IIDA Carolinas and CIDQ
What is happening now?
- Educating students across North Carolina about the legislation
- Presented to attendees at High Point Market in April 2022
- Looking to increase the number of Registered Interior Designers (Registration is Open!)
- Continuing to advocate in North Carolina
- Starting grassroots efforts in South Carolina
